Come learn all about the 2012 Holloway Prize Competition!
The Holloway Prize Innovation-to-Market Competition is designed to stimulate entrepreneurship throughout the University System and is open to all USNH undergraduate and graduate students, regardless of academic discipline, who are interested in starting or expanding a business.
The competition is the oldest of its kind in New Hampshire and one of the first in the nation. It helps students develop proposals for bringing innovative products or services to market, gain first-hand experience in commercializing new products and services, and provides access to faculty advisors and industry experts. Teams of up to four students advance through a series of rounds to vie for up to $10,000 in prize money.
Speakers:
John Aber, UNH Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs
Michael Merenda, Chair and Professor of Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship, WSBE
Marc Sedam, Executive Director, ORPC
The Innovation Catalyst Seminar returns after a holiday break with this month's seminar which will focus on UNH's student population and our two most popular programs—the Undergraduate Research Conference (URC) and the Holloway Prize Innovation-to-Market Competition. In its 13th year, the URC is one of the largest undergraduate research conferences in the country, with over 1,000 students across all disciplines participating. The Holloway Prize (even older in its 24th year) provides tens of thousands of dollars in cash and services to the winners. Please come to learn more about these opportunities, what happens at the end of each event, and how each program might give you the first glance at the "next big thing" to come out of UNH.
The seminar will be followed by cocktails and networking from 5:00-7:00pm at Ballard's Restaurant in downtown Durham courtesy of seminar sponsors Devine Millimet, Pierce Atwood, Ropes & Gray, and Salient Surgical Technologies. This event is free and open to the public.
Parking is available in C Lot for $1/hour and is free after 6pm. See this Downtown Durham Parking Map.
